[Visionix VX650]: An innovative tool for screening ocular pathologies

Written by Visionix | Nov. 28, 2023

In a study conducted in March - April 2023 by CHI Créteil in France, the feasibility and effectiveness of a walk-in ophthalmological screening consultation were evaluated using the Visionix VX 650, automated multimodal equipment, in a university hospital setting. .

This device provides valuable data on:

  • refraction,
  • keratometry,
  • pachymetry,
  • non-contact tonometry,
  • corneal topography,
  • retinophotography

The study included 536 patients, among whom 45.52% were diagnosed with ocular pathology.

The main pathologies discovered were:

  • 16% of Cataract
  • 15.30% of Ocular surface disorders
  • 10% of Age-Related Maculopathy,
  • 6.40% of Narrow angle

The VX 650 was particularly effective in diagnosing keratoconus with integrated corneal topography.

Some key figures:

Keratoconus Interventional actions following screening Additional examinations following screening

Diagnosed in 1.8% of patients thanks to the corneal topography (1) integrated into the VX 650.

15 cataract surgeries
13 peripheral iridotomies
8 capsulotomies
6 intravitreal injections

272 OCT exams
20 visual field

The study validated the feasibility of walk-in screening, opening new perspectives for access to specialized ophthalmology care.

The Visionix VX 650 offers valuable assistance in the diagnosis of ocular pathologies, even if the interpretation of an ophthalmologist remains essential.

Don't miss the opportunity to improve your clinical practice with the Visionix VX 650.
