The Suite Life: Find out how having all your equipment through one vendor can benefit your practice.

The Visionix suite of products can add to your practice’s efficiency, your staff’s accuracy, and your patients’ positive— and memorable— experiences. With a full suite of Visionix products in his practice, Jeffry Gerson, OD FAAO, of Grin Eye Care, in Olathe, Kansas, has seen it all — literally. “When everything is integrated on my tablet, I have what the
lensometer read. And I have what I refracted to. I can press a button and say, ‘Here are your new glasses,’ in an instant.”

Dr. Gerson weighs in on the efficiencies and benefits of having a full suite of products
from one brand, sharing his perspectives on products that can make a difference for
your practice as well.

Wow Factor

VX 65 Digital Phoropter: Dr. Gerson describes patients’ response to this versatile digital phoropter. “Many patients come in having never experienced a digital phoropter,” he
says, adding, “They’re used to the conventional ones.” He notes that when patients see the wheels automatically turning, they consider it a “wow factor.”

“From an ergonomic standpoint, I’m on a tablet. I’m sitting comfortably at a desk. With the VX 65, you’re not stretched, reaching over a patient. You’re sitting however you want.
It makes a real difference.”

Dramatically Underutilized

VX 40 Automated Lensmeter/Lens Analyzer: Describing the VX 40 as “a dramatically
underutilized piece of equipment,” Dr. Gerson notes that it helps efficiency in two ways: 1) It reads prescriptions quickly, and 2) It is accurate.

“We have ours in the pretest area. So, as a patient having autorefraction done, the tech has the eyewear, puts it on the lensometer, and puts it into the EMR. This is all in basically the same amount of time as it takes to do the autorefraction. It’s super-efficient. You’re able to do two things at once,” he says. “When your whole system is integrated, it’s easy
to put that reading into your phoropter."

I Love This Instrument

VX 120+ Multi-diagnostic unit: Without missing a beat, Dr. Gerson says, “I love this instrument” about this multidiagnostic unit. His experience confirms that this is a “super
accurate” autorefractor. “We just assume that any autorefractor is going to do a good job,” he says. “But this one is remarkably good. For efficiency, if you’re basing your starting
point from an autorefractor, you want it to be close, and boy this really, really is.”

Important in Refractive Surgery

VX 130+: Dr. Gerson’s practice has a cornea specialist who he says spends more time where the VX 130+ is, as it has extra testing measures for corneas. “It’s definitely important in refractive surgery and other surgical practices, to get more in-depth detail on the cornea,” he says. He notes that it has the same ‘incredible’ autorefraction and everything else that’s in it, adding that it is ‘easy to use.’”

Really Good Value

Slit Lamps: Gerson notes that in one of his offices there was a “hodge podge” of slit lamps, including one from Visionix. “The optics on that one, they were so good,” he says, saying
they are comparable to the gold standard in the industry. “We moved all the slit lamps out for all new Visionix slit lamps. Now we have one office where all five exam rooms are Visionix.
