Providing full and secure connectivity to the Briot Couture, the Visionix VX 40 Pro Auto Lensmeter/Lens Verifier delivers top-notch accuracy and complete automation within in-office labs.

Save Time

Compatible with most lens technologies and brands, the VX 40 Pro detects lens type, including bifocals, progressives, freeform and single vision. Full automation means that all you need to do is place the frame and push the start button. From there, the system handles lens analysis, measurement, and even left/right lens movement without any user input.

Cut (Way) Back on Costly Returns

The VX 40 Pro helps practices’ bottom lines by reducing returns while maintaining patients’ trust in the work. Ensuring that any potential error or deviation is detected, the system will verify all critical parameters, including sphere power, cylinder, axis, prisms, and optical center alignment.

Dr. Kristopher May, OD, FAAO, owner of Coldwater Vision Center in Coldwater, Mississippi, has years of experience working with Visionix systems, including the VX 40 Pro and the Briot Couture. “The inspection feature of the VX 40 Pro makes recognizing and troubleshooting issues like small scratches and anti-glare defects much easier,” he said. “It’s also a fantastic tool for locating hard-to-find progressive markings and making sure measurements match the patient.”

Offer Patients the Highest Quality

Dr. May notes that providing quality results is “the place where the VX 40 Pro really stands out. Anyone in the office can essentially drop a complete pair into the device and then receive complete and accurate data as well as stunning and simple visualization of everything happening in the lens. This is particularly impressive when it comes to trying to educate patients on the difference between progressives and troubleshooting specialty lenses.”

He is also pleased and impressed with the automated lensometer. “It makes everyone in the office as good or better at lensometry than an experienced optician could be. Comparing modern lens analyzers to manual lensometers is like comparing a high-tech corneal analyzer/topographer to a manual keratometer from the 1950s: Technically, both measure Ks but the comparison ends there.”

“The data speaks for itself. It is nothing short of amazing.”

Next Level Compliance Report

The VX 40 Pro generates an analysis of the lens in frame with complete data in a format that is easy to review with patients. Dr. May said, “This can be particularly useful when a patient has a complaint or issue adapting.” He offered an example from his own experience: “I had a patient who was not satisfied with the progressive lens in her new Rx. She had a very small power change and on recheck, all data was verified. She had chosen a lower-tier-copay progressive lens for her new glasses. We generated reports for her old glasses and her new ones. She could easily see the narrower, shorter channel in her new glasses. It was the first time in my career a patient looked at their new glasses and said out loud, ‘Oh, I messed this up when I chose the cheaper ones. Is there any way we can remake my new prescription in the progressive type I’m used to?’”
